ABOUT
CVNFJ

Central Valley Network for Families and Justice (CVNFJ) is a group dedicated to supporting families impacted by incarceration both across California and within the deeply under-resourced Central Valley region. We recognize that the Central Valley sits at the intersection of political marginalization, economic hardship, and racial inequity. Compounded with the Central Valley having some of the highest CDCR incarceration proportions in the state, families affected by incarceration bear the brunt of these systemic failures with limited avenues of support.

Advocacy

We work towards advancing statewide legislation and policy that prioritizes the following:

1] Enhancing the dignity and experiences of system-impacted individuals and families

2] Expanding access to rehabilitative opportunities within prisons

3] Improving conditions of confinement within prisons

4] Increasing opportunities for fair resentencing with a focus on eliminating geographic and racial disparities, specifically for the central valley.

Resources

We provide an information network, offering a centralized space for accessing CDCR forms, statewide legislative and policy updates, and regional-specific support resources such as:

  • Downloadable CDCR forms and documents

  • Legislative and policy updates from across the state

  • Regional-specific resources tailored to supporting impacted families in the Central Valley, prison and non-prison related resources alike
